Pantone Colors Report, 1

Pantone, creaters of the widely used pantone color matching system, has already called out 2017 as the year we return to nature in the form of the color of the year, Greenery. Now that I can get behind. Green grass, green trees, green clothes? Ok!

The other prominent colors for spring of 2017, all pulled from the collections presented at fashion week, remind me of a tropical island. Destination shoot, anyone?

These colors are gorgeous, perhaps a bit bold, and perfect for inspiring your portrait wardrobe.
Here’s some ideas for your senior portrait wardrobe for just some of the colors, we’ll cover the rest next week.

Greenery, add as much or as little as you like into your ensemble via accessories or shoes. It’s such a fresh color! A silk scarf tied around your neck is oh-so chic on camera! We usually push for heels because they elongate your body but we gladly make exceptions for scalloped flats.

I am a sucker for blue clothes, I wear more blue than anything else and that won’t be changing anytime soon. As you can see, ruffles are awesome for portraits, just be sure they’re not adding too much volume to your body. These sleek island paradise blue pieces are ideal.

Flame, a bold choice but there’s no better time to go all out like in a cold-shoulder, pleated dress perhaps? I love the

movement of this dress for photographs. Wearing the color flame balanced out with softer colors like island paradise or hazelnut creates a bold outfit which isn’t too overwhelming.

There’s so many ways you could add the color kale into your outfit. Kale was a popular color choice for winter so you may already have pieces in this shade you could use. I think my favorite option is the off the shoulder jumpsuit. But the green buffalo plaid shirt has much potential! Casual with skinnies or tucked into a skirt or layered under a jumper…

THIS color! I can’t get enough of this color! It’s romantic, feminine, and delightfully neutral. It can be paired with so many of the other spring colors like island paradise, kale, or greenery. This color would also do well being used as inspiration for your makeup look.
